What this is
Five calculators for the arithmetic that comes up when planning a shoot or a delivery: how large an export will be, what bitrate fits a size budget, how long a card will last, how long a transfer will take, and what a frame's aspect ratio is. Alongside them sits a set of written guides explaining the same ground in prose.
Every result is computed in your browser from the values you type. Nothing is sent anywhere to be calculated, because there is nothing to send it to — the site is a set of static files with no server behind it.
How the numbers are produced
Each calculator prints the formula it used. The complete set — every formula, the internal unit convention, the assumptions each result rests on, the rounding rules, and the limits — is on one page:
The results are arithmetic, not predictions. Where a real-world value would have to be assumed — container overhead, transfer efficiency — the default is the identity value and the field is exposed, rather than a plausible-sounding number this project has not measured.
What this site deliberately does not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, and no saved projects.
- No cookies, on any page, before or after any interaction.
- No analytics, no measurement script, and no third-party request of any kind.
- No advertising and no affiliate links. See the disclaimer.
- No claim of hands-on testing, measurement, or professional credentials.
- No product recommendations or comparison rankings, because this project cannot substantiate the testing such content implies.
What is stored, and where, is listed in full on thecookie and storage notice.
How to report an error
A wrong formula matters more here than anywhere else on the site, so corrections are welcome and are treated as defects rather than feedback. Every formula is published, which means a disagreement can be stated precisely: the tool, the inputs, the result shown, and the result you expected.
How to reach the publisher — including what to do while contact details are pending.
Who publishes this
Contact details are pending.
No verified publisher contact address exists for this site yet. This project does not publish an address, a name, or an organisation it cannot stand behind, and it does not substitute a placeholder that looks real. This section will be completed with the publisher's identity and a working address before the site is promoted publicly.
The working name of this project is Media Production Tools, and it is temporary.
Independence
No calculator default, formula, unit convention, or guide conclusion is chosen to increase page views, session length, or click-through. If a change would make the site slower or less useful in exchange for revenue, it is not made. That rule predates any revenue and does not depend on there being none.
